A Consistent Outreach System

If there is no plan in place within the local church for reaching the community, then effective evangelism will not happen. A plan for reaching the people of our community should be as much a part of the church program as Sunday morning worship, or Sunday school, or youth and children’s ministries. Just as we meet for worship, we should meet sometime during the week to focus on evangelism. Evangelism is one of the major values of the church, yet many have no consistent system in place to do it. We have to get outside of the walls of the church to do evangelism.

Our system for evangelism uses the Mystery Unveiled, Follow-up and Defend Your Faith discipleship tools.

Following is an inexpensive, yet effective one year plan to reach out to those who need to be reconciled to God using the Mystery Unveiled.

• Make a list with the names of people that you would like to see receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
• Ask God to give you wisdom and discernment about how to pray for each person on that list?
• More people are reconciled, “enter into a right relationship with God” when we share the Gospel message with more people. I suggest that you hand out one copy of the Mystery Unveiled every other week for a period of one year to your family, friends and co-workers. (A commitment to purchase 26 copies of the Mystery Unveiled is just 30 cents a day when it’s spread out over a 1 year period.)
• Send me an e-mail at with the name of the person that you give a copy of the Mystery Unveiled. I will add their names to our prayer list, and agree with you in prayer for them.
• Follow up with everyone who received a copy of the Mystery Unveiled. Ask questions like: “Did you have a chance to read the book I gave you?” “Did you pray the salvation prayer at the end of chapter 9?” “Would you like to get together so I can answer any questions that you might have?”
• Disciple all new believers through the Defend Your Faith discipleship DVD’s.
• If you would like to you can e-mail me the names of anyone who prays to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. I will add their names to our new believer discipleship prayer list.
• Make a commitment to grow in your own ability to defend your faith and disciple others.
